The Sky’s the Limit
Pacesetter Homes sets the bar high in SkyView Ranch
The serenity of quiet country living, with a modern twist proves achievable in Calgary’s “New North”, SkyView Ranch.
Think breath-taking mountain views, with the rolling foothills off in the distance that provide a calming ambiance for families young and old to enjoy. This interactive community has a two-acre park with play equipment and basketball courts and pathways throughout.
SkyView Ranch is conveniently located in Northeast Calgary along Country Hills Boulevard. Its proximity to Deerfoot Trail, Barlow Trail and the future Stoney Trail east extension will provide numerous routes to downtown and outlying employment centres. For the business traveler the airport is only five minutes away.
As the Northeast continues to grow, an LRT station will be built adjacent to SkyView Ranch. The community will also be home to future schools, shopping and recreational areas.
Pacesetter Homes’ area associate Ashley Dahl says SkyView Ranch is just minutes away from existing retail outlets and services. With the start of construction of Stonegate Landing and the soon-to-be-open Balzac mall, residents of SkyView Ranch will have numerous shopping options and employment opportunities.
Pacesetter Homes is the sister company of Sterling Homes, and uses the same process when developing high-end luxury homes. With over 10 home models to choose from, ranging in size from 1,800 to 2,400 square-feet, the Santiago is the largest and most popular. The Santiago show home currently features an additional $80,000 in upgrades.
“The Santiago’s starting cost is $461,000, including house, lot, GST, with the lot valued at about $149,000. That will give you some gorgeous panoramic views over here,” adds Dahl, referring to the rolling mountains you can see out the spacious backyard.
The 2,443-square-foot Santiago 3—one of many luxury Pacesetter homes in SkyView Ranch—is a subtly designed manor with the customer’s development preferences kept in mind. The basements in all of the homes boast 8-foot-4-inch ceilings.
“Now you actually go through all of our suppliers directly,” says Dahl. “So with everyone assisting in the building production of your home, you actually go to their company and you get to choose all of your colours there. In terms of finishing features, like your paint and your flooring, we do have design consultants at each location so they assist you there, but you do have over hundreds of products to choose from.”
The Santiago is a family-friendly designed home for people who have continuous traffic throughout their home including children and guests for entertaining.
“We are very flexible with changes. We encourage you to add personal touches to customize your home. It is your home and we want you to feel proud of it and hold some responsibility that you helped design your own home,” adds Dahl.
The main floor offers a spacious bathroom with ensuite laundry, a great room, open kitchen and flex room that leads up to the second floor. The home is kid-friendly with flat switches on outlets and baseboards.
“There’s a little bit of a different concept with the bonus room in this house, you can see it’s centralized instead of traditionally being over the garage,” adds Dahl. “Allowing more fluidity for your family, and easy access to the kitchen, the bonus room also keeps the bedrooms separate to allow you, the owner, to have a little bit more privacy.”
Both the main bathroom and master bathroom have his and hers sinks, a standard for Pacesetter. “His and her sinks are very standard in the main bathroom and ideal for busy households, this home is designed for families.” The master bathroom also has a double-headed shower, a jacuzzi that looks out at the mountains, and deluxe walk-in closets.
The unfinished basement has nothing but potential. All utilities are located in one corner for easy access and the basement can easily fit a few bedrooms and some open entertainment space.
