A modern fairytale
Greenboro’s Esquire a customized castle on Cranston Ridge
Perched on a regal ridge overlooking the roving Bow River Valley, the Esquire by Greenboro Estate Homes Limited Partnership offers a superior lifestyle choice. Boasting breathtaking mountain and river views mixed with sights of the prairies and city skyline, the Esquire on Cranston Ridge provides one of a limited number of opportunities left to deliver to homeowners majestic views and elegant living in the community. Cranston Ridge is arguably one of Calgary’s most desirable southeast communities, and is part of the larger community of Cranston originally settled by the Cranston family, developed by Carma Develeopers.
“The Esquire parallels the peace and quiet of the Bow River,” says Dan Hippe, Greenboro’s vice-president of sales and marketing. “It’s an elegant, yet modern design, with family-friendly functionality.”
Cranston was developed with the active-living family in mind, and the Esquire encompasses the community’s commitment to good quality and family living. The community is also planning to break ground on the Residences Hall—a large facility holding meeting rooms, after-school activities and an full gymnasium. Local amenities include a paved pathway winding through the community, leading to Fish Creek Provincial Park and the river. The community of Cranston caters to a wide range of home shoppers, primarily aged 35 to 49, with one or two children still living at home.
The Esquire show home hosts a master suite on the main floor, with three additional bedrooms in the basement. The elegant home’s total developed area is 3,441 square-feet—with 1,987 square-feet devoted to main-floor living. The master suite is approximately 228 square-feet, while the secondary bedrooms are no smaller than 105 square-feet, offering every member of the household room to retreat. This plan can be built on a variety of land developments, ranging from 52 feet in width and upwards, with depths of the lots ranging from 125 feet to 140 feet.
Greenboro’s always-striking interior design is drafted by the creative likes of consultant Terri Glessing, of Glessing Design, who has worked her magic throughout the address. “Terri has designed for us for the past five years, and has been an invaluable tool in merchandising the home to make sense to the consumers who attracted to our products,” says Hippe.
The exterior’s French Country theme complements the neighbourhood’s soothing finesse. The Esquire’s front exterior is a combination of stone and brick, with the balance of the home covered in a stucco veneer. Greenboro has incorporated a split garage into the design of the home, which in turn, provides a unique courtyard entry punctuated by a wrought-iron gate.
Perhaps the biggest point of interest of the Esquire is the grand kitchen and two-way fireplace dividing the great room from the dining space. The clever use of both the two-way fireplace and the oversized island workspace truly define the formal dining area from the rest of the home.
“Most open-concept bungalows have very little (in the way of) design elements to define the living spaces. The entertainment and fitness centres in the basement are my favourite areas of the home,” adds Hippe. “Too many times, we have to sacrifice elegance when considering a fitness or gym area. The use of another two-way fireplace provides a bit of glamour to an area filled with exercise equipment.”
The home’s maple cabinetry boasts two-tone staining while maple fireplace surrounds were included on both the upper and lower development. “The level of finishing throughout the home is elegant enough to speak to many different buyers without being too over the top,” says Hippe.
Greenboro partners with experts in what they do for each home’s big and small details, from Legacy Kitchens for cabinetry and Hawthorne Interiors for flooring; to Deerbridge Plumbing for everything including the kitchen sink; the audio and wiring pros at TRECC Electric; Cartwright’s lighting fixture specialists; and Knotty Boyz Finishing for all of the icing on each enviable address.
The Esquire on Cranston Ridge is currently for sale at $1.39 million (including home, lot, furnishings and GST), and can be custom built from scratch starting at $1.2 million.
