SABAL HOMES, an award-winning builder with a brand that is synonymous with innovative home design and quality, is again pushing the boundaries of what a new home can be.

Launched on November 30, Sabal’s modern boutique line of homes – The Arkitekt Series – promises to raise the bar even higher and alter the way we look at new homes in Calgary. The Arkitekt series are Scandinavian inspired homes that adopt a progressive design philosophy. The result compliments the lifestyle of the contemporary homeowner with fresh and innovative ideas. This series will appeal particularly to 25 to 35 year old urban-minded professionals and young families.

As leaders in stylish home design, Sabal sent its design team to Europe for inspiration last year. The design team visited countries such as Sweden and Denmark to study the architecture, lifestyle, and culture. The design team was able to see how homes were designed for a smaller living space. These Nordic countries have perfected the art of form and function.

“It was natural for us to look towards Europe. North Americans typically take their cues from European design as they tend to be the leaders in architecture, fashion, automotive and furniture design. Ideas that originate over there usually take months before they hit our shores.  We want to be the first to expose Calgarians to the new and exciting European home design.” says Chris Lu, Marketing Manager for Sabal Homes.
The Arkitekt Series, with its progressive design philosophy, incorporates trademarks of a Scandinavian home: architectural transom windows – using the outside to brighten the inside, exterior cedar wood treatments to give it an organic feel, and a contemporary finishing’s package. They have incorporated these Scandinavian design elements and infused it with Canadian sensibilities.

The contemporary features such as nine feet ceiling, euro-inspired faucets, solid core flat panel doors, lever handles and potlights on the main floor are some of the standard items included in the Arkitekt homes.
There are five unique new models: Filip, Bjorn, Anja, Heidi, and Lars. The FILIP model will appeal to the first-time buyer looking for an uberkool laned home.

It’s an urban loft design with wide open areas for versatility and entertaining. There is a master and a guest bedroom, and an office. The galley-style kitchen and open area above the living showcases much larger than its 1,206 square foot size. It’s a great entry level arkitekt home.

The ANJA model is a Scandinavian garage front home for those looking for big style. If the architectural row of transom windows in the open foyer and staircase doesn’t cause an impact, then the innovative kitchen with a T-kitchen design will. This kitchen design is an industry first in Canada. At 2056 square feet this family sized home is packed with innovative features and design.

The entire Arkitekt line – laned and front garage models, is available only in Copperfield.  NL
