Graduation Day
CenTrex’s Cavan tops in class with move-up Bridlewood buyers
There’s nothing like the feeling of owning your very first home. From the blinds, walls, sinks, baseboards and closets, to the floors, countertops, cabinets and appliances, everything is yours, just the way you want it, from the moment you open the front door.
But there’s another feeling to be had when graduating from your first home into your second—and the sales teams with Centrex Homes witnesses homeowners experience the feeling almost every day as they make their way through the Cavan show home in Bridlewest and let their imaginations soar.
Offering 1,900-square-feet of space, the Cavan gives homeowners looking for their second home a glimpse of what life is like when graduating to the next level. And after seeing what there is to be had at that level, those homeowners are guaranteed to never look back.
“The overall layout is a very functional plan that has curb appeal,” says Trevor Windjack, area manager for Centrex Homes. “A lot of homes tend to be the same and boxy. You can still spend a reasonable amount and get a very elegant home with this house.”
The Cavan is one of Centrex Homes’ first show homes, originating in the northwest community of Cougar Ridge three years ago. Due to its success, the Cavan has been reconstructed in the opposite end of the city and has hardly gone unnoticed by residents throughout the neighbourhood.
Take a walk through the show home and it’s easy to see why the Cavan is a hit for buyers not only looking for more square-footage, but square-footage with class. Every inch of the 1,900-square-feet of space has been used to the fullest, with not a single detail overlooked.
Upon entering the home, guests are drawn to the beautiful maple hardwood floors, which lead to a private office/den. But this den isn’t like any other den on the market today.
That’s because an entire wall is made of French glass that adds a touch of elegance along the hallway as visitors make their way into the carefully crafted kitchen with living room and formal dining room off to the side.
The kitchen utilizes its space to the fullest, boasting stainless steel appliances, a walk-in pantry, an island with an eating bar and plenty of maple cabinets that extend 36 inches high to almost match the nine-foot ceilings.
Upstairs on the second level, visitors will find two bedrooms and a flexible bonus room before making their way to perhaps the best feature in the entire home—the master bedroom and ensuite, also known as the private retreat. Since the home is designed for young families, there’s nothing like having your own private space to retire to at the end of a long hard day and in the Cavan, you have more than your own private retreat, you practically have your very own spa. Combined with the walk-in closet, the four-piece master ensuite encompasses nearly 200 square-feet of space, complete with a massive soaker tub sure to take all your troubles away, even it is just for a few hours.
According to Windjack, the den and ensuite have become the biggest-selling features of the $444,900 home, largely being scooped up by residents already living in the community of Bridlewood.
“The ensuite really offers a private retreat and a lot of buyers like the fact they have a home office that’s closed off, but it’s not just a big wall,” says Windjack, who has had customers showcase a baby grand piano in the office/den. “These buyers are looking for more than just square-footage. Once inside, it makes people proud.”
Other Calgary communities for Centrex Homes include Chaparral Ridge, Coventry Park, and Prairie Springs in Airdrie. A new multi-family project by Centrex in Kincora is arriving soon and will feature 84 unique two-storey townhomes with a variety of floorplans.
The Cavan is located at 81 Bridleridge View, next to Centrex Homes’ other show home, the 1,675-square-foot Saluda, which gives visitors a sense of stepping back into the 1960s. For more information about the Cavan visit http://www.centrexhomes.ca NL
