Everyone’s invited
Sabal's Axiom II ready for your family's Reunion
Buying your first home is a key event in most people’s lives, one that requires a lot of thought and careful planning. When it finally happens, it’s exciting for the whole family, whether that family is a newly-wed couple, a single professional or a family of five.
One of the most important decisions a new homebuyer will make is where to buy. With the soaring real estate prices in Calgary and the increasing number of big city issues like traffic congestion, one option many people are turning to is to buy in one of Calgary’s outlying towns. Airdrie has many of the same amenities of Calgary, and those that are missing are a quick and easy trip down the Deerfoot. Many Calgarians are embracing the small town feel that Airdrie possesses, without sacrificing any of the conveniences living in a big city offers. In response, Airdrie has been expanding over the last few years and many new communities have sprung up in its midst.
Reunion is just one such community, where, as they proclaim, “everyone’s invited.” Sabal Crafted Homes, long considered one of Calgary’s best and most reliable home builders, is excited to be involved in such an innovative and far-seeing development.
“[Reunion has] a slower pace of life, it’s more family-oriented,” says Sabal’s marketing manager Chris Lu. “What really sets it apart is its design as a multi-generational community.” Indeed, Reunion plans to include not only a school for families with young children, but a seniors’ retirement complex as well, meaning that grandparents, parents and children could conceivably live within a stone’s throw of each other. The community will also include a church, a pond and a park with a pathway system, all places where families can gather and spend time with each other.
Sabal recently opened several showhomes in Reunion, one of which is the 1,600-square-foot Axiom II. Decorated in a modern country style, Lu says it is designed with many welcoming features, like the front foyer, which has a walk-in closet and a bench with a storage space inside.
“This is a modern family home that is both functional and beautifully designed for living,” says Lu. With a distressed alder hardwood floor and decorated with a palette of warm browns and greys, the house has a cosy, homey feel that instantly puts you at ease.
The main floor features a flex room off the front entrance that would make an excellent home office or study, as well as a large open plan kitchen, dining area and great room. The kitchen has a large centre island which is perfect for informal gatherings and there is an abundance of storage space in the cupboard pantry and hardwood cabinets. In the great room, one can imagine a fire crackling in the slate-framed fireplace as a family plays games or watches movies together.
A curved staircase leads the way upstairs, where the three spacious bedrooms are found. The master bedroom includes a large walk-in closet and an ensuite bathroom with a soaker tub and separate shower stall, a luxury that is usually found in estate homes. A second full bathroom is also located upstairs, where the modern country theme continues with the wainscoted cabinets. One of the most convenient aspects of the home, Lu points out, is the fact that the laundry room is located upstairs as well.
Sabal is building a total of 40 homes in the first phase of Reunion and nearly a quarter of them are already sold. Prices start at $360,000 including lot and GST. Sabal invites everyone to visit their showhomes and sales centre to reunite with a modern country lifestyle. NL
