Among builders in the Lakes of Muirfield is Elite Homes, a quality home builder with more than 20 years of building experience. Elite is in good company, joining fellow Unity Builders Group builder Today’s Homes, as well as Parkgreen Homes and Douglas Homes to round out the foursome of builders in the developing Lyalta golf course community. Show homes will officially be opening in the spring of 2008, but some may be complete beforehand and open by appointment. An added benefit for all buyers in the Lakes of Muirfield is they will not only be situated in a golf course community, but two free memberships to the links come included with their purchase price, so residents can enjoy the full extent of living on a golf course.

Geared for those who like city living but also want the privacy of a gated community, a variety of bungalows and two-storey houses can be built in the area. “Almost all of our lots are walk-outs that back on to the golf course or the canals,” says Lau. Many of the homes in the Lakes of Muirfield will have master bedrooms on the main floor. “A lot of families like that, because as the children grow older and move out, you are able to live mostly on your main floor, but still have spare bedrooms upstairs.”

Lau says Elite’s home sizes in the Lakes of Muirfield will range from 1,400- to 1,800-square-foot bungalows to two-storeys from 2,000 to more than 2,500 square-feet.

Homes will have features standard to Elite’s Presidential specifications—such as stone detailing on the front of the home, which can be stucco or hardy board, interior detailing such as oval glass inserts on front doors, Caradon Comfort TiR double-glazed windows, high efficiency furnaces and hot water tanks, maple railings, wrought iron spindles, larger baseboards, rounded corners, and “knock-down” ceiling finish.

Other details include hardwood floors in the kitchen, nook and foyer, in-stair lighting, nine-foot ceilings on the main floor, and granite countertops and garburators in kitchens. “For us, a lot of the things you see here are standards because people in the estate market are going to add these features anyway,” says Lau.

Buyers with Elite will also have access to builder’s brand new Home Gallery where they can pick all their selections—notably located not far from the community in the builder’s head office in the northeast, says Lau. “All our home purchasers have the opportunity to pick their selections from carpets, tile, hardwood, paints, plumbing and lighting fixtures, even a home theatre.”  NL
