Kincora by Apex
Regal home choices await in the northwest
Home shoppers looking to be kings and queens of their castles need drive no further than the northwest community of Kincora by Apex Limited Partnership.
“The entrance into Kincora is very grand and welcoming and we tried to capture that feeling throughout the rest of the community with a large amount of planting, stone walls and architectural detailing.” says Kristy Gillespie, project and marketing co-ordinator for Apex Limited Partnership.
The area borrows its name from the homestead of Ireland’s High King Brian Boru who was credited with directing Ireland’s future.
Conquering the obstacles to find a home is much easier in the rolling hills of this Kincora, where four Centrex and Excel show homes are ready for the touring. Now quite an established neighbourhood with five years of development, Shane, Beattie, Jayman and Centrex Homes have recently closed a show home parade in the community after crafting homesteads in its first 16 phases.
Centrex and Excel will finish off the final three phases of Kincora’s single-family addresses with attached garages. Meanwhile, Centrex will soon have a townhome project up for grabs in Kincora, slated to come on the market this fall.
Chock full of greenspace, with a 15-acre water feature and 120 acres of park and environmental reserve peppered throughout the up and coming community, residents have much more to come home to than a mere roof over their heads.
These digs are far from common. That’s apparent from a stroll through Excel Homes’ new model, the 1,900-square-foot Monarch or family-friendly 1,500-square-foot Sierra, which are well-appointed examples of what the builder is offering in the area. A choice of ten plans, the lion’s share with three bedrooms, two-and-a-half bathrooms and bonus rooms to maximize space above garages are at would-be residents’ fingertips from the mid-$450,000s.
Meanwhile, it’s actually not a long way to the grand 2,380-square-foot Tipperary, one of two elegant show homes right next door by Centrex Homes. The spacious two-storey is in good company next to Centrex’s new model home on the parade—the 1,890-square-foot equally-stunning Galway. Centrex is building in Kincora from around the 2,000-square-foot mark, with prices starting in the $540,000s including lot and GST.
“Residents have been lured by the smaller footprint than some of the city’s other suburban neighbourhoods, and a feeling of being away from it all,” says Tom Gruenwald, area manager for Excel Homes in Kincora.
“We are seeing a lot of young families. It’s just a nice area with great architecturals, wider streets and you can see for miles, plus there’s lots of greenspace,” he says, adding access to scores of shopping and amenities along Country Hills Boulevard is also close at hand. “And the Celtic theme does really appeal to people.”
In addition to a first-rate location, that means investments are protected by homes with stone detailing, wider-than-average streets and community features from the entry tower to high walls providing transitions throughout the neighbourhood.
The future will bring a new public school (a site is set aside), and a church is already under construction in the neighbourhood.
Meanwhile, in nearby Creekside—which, like Kincora is within the greater Symons Valley area—a shopping centre is already ushering in business, with a supermarket, big-box home improvement store, banks, professional services, drug store, pub and eateries all part of the 40-acre parcel. NL
