BROADVIEW HOMES’ LATEST OFFERING, found in the neighbourhood of the Pillars of Royal Oak in Calgary’s northwest, boasts 2,443-square-feet of living space, four bedrooms and two-and-a-half baths.

Broadview Homes has been building in Calgary for almost 20 years. “We really look after our customers and strive to make the building process an enjoyable experience,” explains Lindsay Doiron, Broadview sales associate. “We have very strong standard specs and we stand behind our homes.

“The Capri appeals to a vast number of buyers because of its four bedrooms. It has a large footprint; our designs are spacious. The den and formal dining room are the strength of the main floor. This plan offers you both, not just a flex room,” Doiron says. “It is the best selling home in the Pillars of Royal Oak, starting at $512,698, including home, lot and GST. We have only about 20 lots left.”

The very modern décor of The Capri, created by Mary Ferraro of the Ferraro Group, showcase the many innovative aspects of this lovely show home. In addition to the den and dining room with coffered ceiling, the large foyer welcomes friends and family alike. Hardwood floors combined with tile are elegantly put together.

The great room, with its gas fireplace and feature wall, is warm and inviting. The sleek kitchen’s eating area is surrounded by windows, with access to the deck through a French door. Additional seating is available at the breakfast bar on the island. Black granite countertops contrast beautifully with the stylish hood fan, the Kitchenaid stainless steel appliances, and Blanco under-mounted sink. A tiled backsplash complements the look, while two sets of glass block under the upper maple cabinetry bring in extra natural light.

Up the carpeted stairs is the bonus room, decorated as a sitting area with a desk. Down the wide hallway, the principle bedroom plus three bedrooms and an additional full bath are also found on the second floor. All have large windows and plenty of closet space. The principle bedroom’s ensuite includes a double vanity, soaker tub and shower with a funky Delta showerhead. More glass block is utilized in the windows, providing light, yet privacy.

The washer and dryer are located on the second floor as well. The space that is often set aside for the washer and dryer on the main floor in so many plans is used in The Capri as “the old broom closet,” laughs Doiron, adding it has become a large, convenient storeroom.

Storage is plentiful in The Capri. The basement development has been left to only what the owner’s imagination can come up with: an extra bedroom and bathroom or perhaps even a home theatre!
Numerous niches and alcoves are present throughout the two levels, allowing homeowners to display treasured art pieces.

There are many upgrades within the show home including maple railing; knockdown ceilings; maple mantle and columns around the fireplace in the great room; “loads of granite” in the kitchen and baths; soft-lined corners; stainless steel appliances; berber carpet; hardwood and tile flooring; as well as the deck.

At the end of the street, a park opens up to a “nicely treed natural wetland,” adds Doiron. A community centre, adjacent to the Pillars of Royal Oak, is planned as well. Amenities are close at hand, many within walking distance, including shopping and restaurants. Add the beautiful houses Broadview Homes puts together: all in all a winning combination! NL
