Setting the Pace
Veracruz show home in Silverado struts its family-friendly style
NO LONGER JUST A PLACE to live, new homes and communities are serving as an extension of personal lifestyle. Be it the southern design with front porches to watch kids at play on the street or lake communities to enjoy those rare hot Calgary days, homes now must reflect the way of life.
The brand-new community of Silverado does just that, according to Cheryl Mason, the area manager for Pacesetter Homes. A quick look at the outline plan for Silverado shows a vast greenspace left untouched with a pond and plenty of pathways. With the community lending mountain views, it’s no surprise that homeowners in this area prefer spending time in the great outdoors.
Developed by United Communities, Silverado is a water-conservative community. To that end, Pacesetter includes a rain-barrel attached to one downspout per home, for later use of watering plants or trees. Low-flow taps and toilets are also standard, as well as plumbing lines wrapped and insulated for quicker access to hot water.
“Silverado as a whole is a family community for all ages,” says Mason. “Our buyers range from young families buying their first homes to empty-nesters downsizing.”
The two-storey carriage style homes offered by Pacesetter seem to do just the trick for these families.
All five semi-detached models come equipped with double-attached garages and range in size from 1,850-square-feet to over 2,300-square-feet. “You don’t often see these square-footages with other builders,” says Mason. “It’s something quite unique that Pacesetter brings.”
Unique features are also displayed throughout the builder’s largest plan and show home, the Veracruz. A central bonus room on the second level and “poker room” complete with a skylight prove the Veracruz to be cosy and appealing to any family. The main-floor den or flex room can be seen through beautiful arches and the walk-through pantry, though different from the show home, would be loaded with cabinets. “The home is very bright because of the great-sized windows,” says Mason. And she’s right—the entire back wall of the house features windows of all sizes.
The main bath showcases double sinks while the ensuite flaunts a corner soaker tub, separate shower and a makeup counter. If that’s not enough, Pacesetter standards in Silverado include nine-foot main floor ceilings, a fireplace, a Hunter Douglas blind package and front sod and tree, while built-in niches allow artwork displays to flow throughout the home.
Features included at no cost make these Pacesetter homes very tempting. With quick-possession homes, buyers can move in sooner than later, while if it’s later you prefer, opting for a build is an option. Homes range from $418,000 to just under $500,000 with upgrades, but would-be residents can meet with Mason in person to find the home that best fits their lifestyles and budgets.
So if your criteria for a new home and community is being close to the wetlands and enjoying Calgary’s outdoor lifestyle, while still being minutes away from all amenities, then make Silverado your next destination. NL
