HIGH ABOVE THE CITY, at the end of an idyllic suburban street, with 360-degree views and exclusive gated access, lies a community straight out of a fairy tale. Via Ultima sits above the estate community of The Hamptons, and borders on the fourth fairway of the Country Club of the Hamptons.

CONSTRUCTION ON VIA ULTIMA BEGAN IN 2005, with Calbridge Fine Homes as the exclusive builder. There are four homes currently under construction, with six lots yet to be developed. Each home is completely customized, with prices ranging from $1.5 – 2 million and the choice between bungalow and two-storey plans.

The perks of living in an exclusive gated community with endless views are many. There is, of course, the security, not to mention the feeling of prestige. Golfers and non-golfers alike will appreciate the picturesque fourth and sixth fairways, and the large water feature, right outside their backyard.

“It’s probably the most picturesque part of the golf course,” says Jeff Finnemore, general manager of Calbridge Fine Homes, adding that eight of the ten Via Ultima lots are walk-outs with southeast exposures, overlooking the water feature, the golf course and the city.

Via Ultima residents will also enjoy relative seclusion, with only one access point located at the far corner of The Hamptons. Since the community of The Hamptons is nearing completion (it’s currently in the last phase), construction traffic is at a minimum and will soon come to an end.

As a well-established community, The Hamptons boasts a variety of amenities, including a Co-op shopping centre, school, tennis courts, skating rinks, soccer fields and the 18-hole championship golf course. The community is designed around the golf course, which capitalizes on the community’s natural amenities and features four water features and an aquatic driving range.

“The golf course is a key element of the community,” says Finnemore. “It is stunning, a masterpiece – a world-class facility.”

Once a buyer has made the decision to build a home in Via Ultima, the design process begins. This is where Calbridge Fine Homes shines.

“Calbridge is truly a custom builder,” says Finnemore. “It’s something that we’ve done in the past on various levels, in different phases of the community. These are just a little bigger, but with the same attention to detail.”

Every Calbridge home is in fact a custom home, with buyers enjoying the ability to combine different plans and make changes as needed in order to create the home that meets their needs.

In Via Ultima, the process is the same, and buyers are involved in every step of the process. As Finnemore puts it, these homes are 100 per cent custom, from the floor plan to the specifications and design details.

“When you build a house, you really have to put your heart into it, and become absorbed with this home. The detail is so important and everything has to flow together, from the design to the specs to the quality. You have to make sure that you’re doing everything 120%. It’s really the passion for building. You’ve got to be really, truly caring about your customer; not just in Via Ultima, but with any house, in any subdivision.”

In general, Finnemore says that the look of the homes in Via Ultima will be “casually elegant,” with distinctive exteriors and professional landscape design. The lots average 64 feet in width and the bungalows range in size from 2500 to 2800 square feet on the main floor.

Calbridge Fine Homes president Joe Ferraro and his family have been building homes in Calgary for over 28 years. As Ferraro always says, “a house is not just a home, it’s the heart of the family.” NL
