In the wake of the current economic uncertainty across the land, it is gratifying to know that some things can still be depended on — like Trico Homes’ ability to produce well-designed, family-friendly homes that won’t strain the budget.

Their Tremont show home in the southwest community of Silverado is an emphatic statement of this fact, as the two-storey attached-garage model continues to astound visitors with its sexy sense of fun and practicality.
The 2,706-square-foot show home has enjoyed one of its best months yet as it recorded several sales in just the past few weeks, says area sales manager Jill Cruikshank. Although the Tremont was originally designed to cater to the move-up market, she says it has proven to be tremendously popular with a wide range of buyers.
“June was very busy. People realize what a good value the Tremont offers, and it attracts the whole gamut of buyers; from young couples, to families with small children, and move-up families,” she tells New Home Living. “We have an almost perfect storm of historically low interest rates and attractive prices and people can see the tremendous value that the Tremont offers.”
The Tremont has a traditional design that adheres to family values – with plenty of room for entertaining — yet adaptable enough to satisfy the needs of a growing family with lots of storage room and unmatched flexibility in design options.
The Tremont has five different variations of its upper floor and two for its main floor: it can be built as a 2,442-square-foot home, or as a massive 2,706-square- move-up — which the show home on Silverado Boulevard displays with disarming charm.
“There’s a four-bedroom option, or a four-bedroom with a bonus room, or a three-bedroom with a bonus room and retreat in the master suite,” Cruikshank says. “There is just so much flexibility in the design to fit any lifestyle.”
What’s especially attractive, she says, is that the Tremont model can be built starting at around $488,000 — a price point which is really affordable considering something this size and design would have cost upwards of $600,000 some two years ago.
The Tremont’s charm starts right out front with its double front doors — a standard feature that gives the home an expansive air of welcome to go with the extra-wide foyer. The 3-1/4-inch yellow birch hardwood flooring used at the show home further accentuates the handsome finishing that provides the country estate feel the community of Silverado has become known for.
The main floor boasts an open-design, with a formal dining area that provides privacy for a more proper get-together but still retains a sense of fun for more informal parties and a den/ flex room off the great room. “The den is a handy place to have for either a library, an office, or just a place to store kids’ toys when they’re done playing in the great room,” Cruikshank says.
The extended, raised eating bar off the galley-style kitchen is another cool design element that has a very specific function — to entertain. “It’s a great focal point for parties, everyone can just hang out by the bar and still be in conversation with those in the great room, dining room or kitchen,” she adds.
The galley kitchen is a thing of gleaming beauty with its stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and a very elegant cabinet pantry which, Cruikshank says, adds a very stylish flourish to the surroundings and a practical one as well. “You get a lot of storage space without using up a lot of space.”
The master bedroom has all the bells and whistles of a luxurious boutique hotel suite with a sumptuous ensuite that includes a corner soaker tub flanked by his-and-hers vanities, an oversized walk-in closet and topped off by a 11-by-9-by-9-foot retreat just off the bedroom. “It’s the owner’s inner sanctum, a place where he or she can gather their thoughts, or read a book in peace and quiet. It’s also handy as a nursery for a newborn,” Cruikshank says. NL
