Trico Homes - Dedicated to Calgary and Calgarians
Community respect and customer dedication are the backbone of Trico Homes' unrelenting success and promising future.
AS ONE OF THE CITY'S premier builders, the altruistic company prides itself on giving back to a community that has been so supportive, says Richard Gotfried, vice president of corporate communications.
“We have an incredible respect for the community that stems from President Wayne Chiu’s incredible personal philanthropy, setting the tone and guiding our entire corporate culture. We believe in not just building great homes but in building a strong, healthy and vibrant community,” says Gotfried.
From supporting ESL programs at Bow Valley College to the hugely successful Kids Cancer Care Foundation Ride for a Lifetime and most recently, GlobalFest, Trico Homes credits the community with their on-going success.
“We raised $275,000 for research for the Kids Cancer Care Foundation on this year’s Ride for a Lifetime while our long term goal is to raise half a million annually! Our staff is proud of the company’s community involvement, and when you have a happy and motivated team, customers and partners benefit from their positive attitude and commitment.”
Recognized as the fifth best Workplace in Canada, as well as one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies last year, the Trico family strives to outdo themselves each and every year.
“We remain focused on qualifying for both of those awards again this year and I think winning them is a really great reflection of just how wonderful it is to work for Trico. In today’s market, it’s important to build customer confidence and we have done just that.”
Perfecting their TricoSelect process, as well as adding resources and selection to their recently expanded Accents Design Centre has allowed the company to thrive in today’s exploding market.
“One-stop shopping is yet another way we save the customer time, money and stress, while also providing them with Professional Design Consultation.”
“Our TricoSelect program, which allows you to choose personalized pre-planned options when building your home, was put in place to accommodate our planned growth, so when the market exploded, we were ready for it. Our focus on efficiency has allowed us to thrive in a market where time is of the essence for both the builder and the customer.”
Homebuyers appreciate the benefits of the TricoSelect program, which allows them to make a home their own while keeping costs and building times under control, he adds.
“We are still averaging home delivery in about 10 months in a market where many builders are averaging several months longer. We are able to really boost our customers’ confidence because they know exactly what to expect and when they will be moving in.”
“We are not a custom home builder but rather a builder of “personalized” homes. Trico offers a streamlined process, choice and flexibility which allows us to build quality, affordable homes with the upgrades that suit the individuals style, preferences and budget. We want to provide the homeowner with meaningful benefits and confidence in their long term investment when their home is completed.”
Already building throughout the city and area including Airdrie, Cochrane, Langdon, Okotoks and Chestermere, the future looks bright as Trico forges into new markets throughout southern Alberta and Interior B.C.
“We have two upcoming projects that we are very excited about in Fernie and Vernon, B.C. They are both resort-type projects - a little different than our current single-family and multi-family offerings - but targeted towards many of the same customers.”
A strong staff, efficient design and construction and community respect are the formula for success, says Gotfried.
“Our sales people and staff are an incredible group of people and when you combine that with customer-focused efficiency, it all translates into value. At the end of the day, we build great family homes!” NL
