Right house, right community
Sterling Homes' Laredo a perfect fit for Silverado
Nestled between Spruce Meadows, Calgary’s premier show jumping facility, and the radio tower wetlands is Calgary’s latest multi-density community.
Silverado will be home to hundreds of Calgarians looking for easy access to the city and the beauty of nature on their doorstep.
Flanking the community on the north side is a 60-acre environmental reserve that will preserve radio tower creek and the surrounding marshy lands that serve as a home to birds and wildlife in the area. Walking trails that wind around the perimeter of Silverado will border the natural park, allowing residents to enjoy the picturesque park and the view beyond to Spruce Meadows.
United Communities is developing the 360-acre property. Alix Halpen, United Communities marketing director, says Silverado is surrounded by fantastic panoramas.
“It is a great location,” Halpen says. “There are amazing views – mountain and city views.”
Most residents will have never-ending views of the prairie landscape, but will still enjoy the conveniences of a modern and growing city.
Homeowners will also be engaged in keeping their environment green, with each home to be outfitted with water conserving measures.
Although sales of everything from multi-family to estate lots have only recently hit the markets, homes are starting to spring up in the southwest neighbourhood.
“There is a house style for everyone,” Halpen says.
With over ten builders on board, including Sterling, Pacesetter, Avi, Excel, Morrison, Shane, Baywest, Lifestyle, Landmark and Trico Homes, selection is abundant in Silverado.
Eight builders have already opened their doors in Silverado’s already impressive parade of show homes and four more are expected to be open for business this fall.
Currently on the market are single-family starter and move up homes and a variety of large duplexes in phases one and four of the development.
The Sterling Group of Companies has had their eye on Silverado for several years and now is offering both single-family homes from their Sterling Homes show home and duplexes at their Pacesetter show home.
Sterling Homes sales manager Harvey Reinhardt said although their show homes have only been open for a matter of months, sales have already caught on in the relatively new area.
“Anyone who wants to live in the south end of the city would be attracted to the area,” Reinhardt said.
He agrees that diversity is a plus at Silverado. Sterling Homes is offering about a dozen floor plans and up to 40 elevations, ensuring clients will likely not be caught with the exact same home as their neighbours.
In fact Sterling Homes has introduced a brand new model in Silverado.
The Laredo is a spacious 2,294 square foot two-storey home that brings new meaning to open concept.
When you walk through the front door you are treated to an amazing panoramic view of the sitting room, kitchen and dining area.
With only one small wall and a post the living room opens into both rooms allowing plenty of light to flood the main room.
A fireplace makes for one of several inviting nooks found throughout the home. Situated in front of a narrow alcove, cozying up to the fireplace includes a view onto Radio Tower Park and beyond to Spruce Meadows.
A trip up the stairs reveals another expansive living room and plenty of windows to bring the light in. To the right is a slightly lowered family room, complete with peaked ceilings and flanked by three large windows.
Taking a turn to the left reveals a large master bedroom and two additional bedrooms, perfect for children or guests.
Three bathrooms also allows for plenty of room for a family or to entertain. A huge ensuite, including his and hers sinks and a soaker tub and stand up shower, offer a soothing retreat for parents or hosts at the end of a long day.
The home’s second cozy nook can be found in the master bedroom, where a similar alcove also opens up to the backyard and fantastic views.
When looking from the outside in, Sterling’s show home has instant impact with stick Victorian styling, a spacious two-car garage and plenty of large windows.
Sterling Homes show home can be viewed from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. NL
