Stunning Beauty
Cardel’s Bayview II is turning heads in Tuscany
CARDEL HOMES has long had a reputation for delivering stunning home styles to suit a variety of tastes and its latest show home in the northwest community of Tuscany is no exception to this rule.
While would-be buyers still have to wait until later this month for the official opening, the Bayview II is one of two brand new Cardel show homes to begin ushering in visitors – and plenty of positive feedback – in the northwest community now helping put the finishing touches on Tuscany.
“This is a great home for entertaining. The highlight feature is the two-storey great room – everyone loves the massive wall of windows along the back,” says Warren Saunders, sales manager for Cardel Homes.
A design research trip to California inspired the towering, contemporary fireplace mantle along the side of the great room – only to be rivaled in aesthetic charm by the wall of windows flanking the rear wall and showering the space in light.
The chef-friendly kitchen of the Bayview II serves up an abundance of chic ebony stained cabinetry with glass inserts, and is punctuated by “retro” style lights over the island, sleek stainless steel appliances and a dark granite countertop that’s literally one of a kind.
“We also designed a built out stainless steel toe kick around the island which is very unique,” says Saunders.
Appealing to the 20- to 40-Something buyer, the well-selling plan has, by all accounts, turned its share of heads in its young lifespan in the coveted community, attracting buyers well before the show home was up and running last month.
While sized for a family, one single buyer is now having the digs crafted for his own upscale bachelor pad and was lured to the home for its entertaining potential and modern flair, says Saunders.
At 2,234 square feet, the main floor boasts all the space needed for a sizeable soireé, with some practical appointments also sewn in to the Bayview II’s handsome package.
For starters, a walkthrough pantry helps assure grocery day is in the bag, while would-be residents who prefer to bring work home will appreciate an open style den with a view of the front door.
Next to the aptly-named great room, open risers add a hint of contemporary elegance and prove as functional as they are fashionable, while making for a striking focal point to lead the path upstairs.
Bayview II clients will have the best of both worlds, says Saunders, including an open-to-below effect created with the two-storey great room, as well as a sizeable bonus room on the second level.
“You don’t often achieve a sizeable bonus room and open-to-two-storey area in this size of house,” he says. The full view of the fireplace detail was made possible thanks to a gorgeous second-floor spindle railing that looks out over the main-floor hub and into the backyard through the wall of glass.
Upstairs, kids will surely be thrilled with their well-sized sleeping digs, including double closets. Down the hall, the main bathroom awaits junior household members and guests, complete with its own rain showerhead and tiled floors.
Meanwhile, Mom and Dad will savour some luxury of their own in a master suite designed to pamper – boutique-hotel style. The ensuite boasts a four-foot by four-foot skylight centered over a raised ebony vanity and vessel sink. Meanwhile, a rectangular soaker tub is tucked to the side for privacy, while the tiled shower with glass mosaic tile highlights and bench seat is poised to deliver R and R at day’s end.
Full-height tile in the ensuite shower is one of many “extras” Cardel offers as standard in its appointments, says Saunders. “It’s something we include in all of our ensuites – the tile adds the extra detail for buyers to personalize the space,” he says, noting the glass mosaic tile from the kitchen is repeated on the ensuite floor.
The Bayview II show home in Tuscany starts from approximately $510,000 including lot and GST, while Cardel begins crafting move-up, single-family addresses in the area from around the $412,000 mark.
