COUNTRY LIVING is on Calgary’s doorstep at Boulder Creek, an upscale development in Langdon. Stepper Custom Homes is celebrating 50 years of passion for building in and around Calgary this year and their Boulder Creek show home in Langdon is evidence about the company’s love of what they do.

It was in 1953 that Rudy Stepper, a German woodworker, turned his fortune around with $7 in his pocket and a one-way ticket to Canada.

With his woodworking skills and great financial sense on his side Rudy turned his first home into an opportunity to build first ten and then fifty homes and the rest is history.

It is this fearlessness and wonderful common sense that has allowed subsequent generation of Steppers to continue on the family business.

Chuck Stepper, Marketing Manager for his family’s company, said Boulder Creek is a new and exciting move for the well-established builder.

“Langdon is an up and coming and growing town,” says Stepper. “What you get for the money is a lot better.”

With the second phase about to be released Stepper Custom Homes’ Area Manager for Boulder Creek Lynn Desilets said people should take the trip out to Langdon before they miss out on the great value of living on the east side of Calgary.

“People are waking up to the benefits of the prairie side of the city,” Desilets says.

With only two lots remaining from Stepper Custom Homes’ collection of lots in the first phase, Desilets said demand for the second phase will be high.

“We have customers from the area who love Langdon who want to upgrade to this area and we have customers from every corner of the city and downtown Calgary,” Desilets said.

With an 18-hole golf course and several ponds slated for the area, including a number of properties that back onto the greens, Stepper Custom Homes can offer unparalleled scenery to its homeowners.
The value of living in Langdon is the biggest draw, said Desilets.

Lots in Boulder Creek sell for almost half the price of those in Calgary. Land in Calgary regularly sells for $17 per square foot as compared to $8 per square foot in Boulder Creek.
That allows Stepper Custom Homes to offer huge lots for a great price. Stepper Custom Homes’ Boulder Creek lots come in at 62 feet wide and 132 feet deep, giving residents a lot of room to landscape and play in their roomy backyards.

“The main drawing card is the wider lots and the small town atmosphere,” Desilets says. “It has an open feeling. It is a wonderful place to raise a family.”

And the spaciousness doesn’t stop in the great outdoors. Stepper Custom Homes’ ten model homes for Boulder Creek range from 1,900 to 2,500 square feet. Garage space is also at a premier at Stepper Custom Homes’ Boulder Creek homes.

“The wider lots allow us to provide excellent garages and storage,” Desilets says.

From double and triple side garages and even the possibility for a tandem parking spot, the Stepper Custom Homes’ garages will meet most homeowner’s space needs. “We are able to provide storage for the toys of today,” Desilets says.

The wider lots also allow for long porches that harken back to the days of sitting on your veranda in a wooden rocking chair watching the fireflies light up the night sky.

“The Hamlet of Langdon offers schooling up to junior high, he points out, and offers a variety of minor sports that are well supported by the community. And it’s still close the city,” he continues. “You can get to Calgary by Highway 1A and Glenmore Trial and it's also very close to the airport.”

Head east to find Stepper Custom Homes show home in the new community only 37 kilometres down Glenmore Trail to Langdon, one of the MD of Rockyview’s fastest growing communities.  NL
