Home at Lask
Family-run builder stresses quality over quantity
Building beautiful homes since 1990, Lask Homes is a family owned and operated company that combines the experience and expertise of Lou and Kevin Luini. Together the father and son have over 70 years experience in the home building and construction industry.
Kevin Luini says that after his father Lou retired they decided to start the company. “My dad got his start with Keith Homes years ago and now he’s president of our company,” says Kevin. Winner of the 2005 SAM Awards for the Customer Choice in the category of Small Volume Single-Family Builder for Calgary and area, Lask Homes also won the Alberta Customer Choice Award. This is most likely due to the company’s primary focus; to not build more than 40 homes a year. This ensures that Lask customers receive individual attention throughout all phases of the home building process.
One of the beautiful homes that this award-winning company has built is called the Aspen. This four-bedroom home includes a front-attached garage and lots of room to spread out. With 1926 square feet, another 426 square feet in the bonus room, and an additional 1600 square feet with the developed lower level, this home is as spacious as it is attractive. As you enter the Aspen you are greeted with an impressive 18 foot, two-storey foyer with an elegant grand staircase leading to the upper level. To the right of the entrance, double french doors lead to the office with its built-in custom cabinetry. To the left of the entrance is a half bath with a unique glass bowl-sink built on a shaker-style wash table. Along with the laundry sink and an abundance of cabinetry this room also has a space made for an upright freezer. These aren’t the only features designed especially with a family in mind.
As you move into the interior of this home you will notice the open-concept design of the family room, kitchen and nook. The massive granite-top island in the kitchen includes a built-in eating bar which is great for families or entertaining. As well, the cabinetry reaches all the way up to the nine-foot ceilings, emphasizing the feeling of space in this gorgeous room. This particular home includes a 180 degree view of the entire rear of the acreage that this home sits on. If this doesn’t immediately catch your eye, then the full width stone fireplace in the family room surely will. Moving to the upper level, one of the great features of the Birchwood is that all four bedrooms include walk-in closets; something the whole family will appreciate. The main bath is divided in half for double usage; another great family feature. The master bedroom includes a gorgeous five-piece ensuite with his and her sinks, as well as his and her walk-in closets.
One of the more unique features of this home is the bonus room over the garage. Two steps down from the main upper hallway and you have a fantastic and versatile room. Four-foot pony walls on either side offer a great play area for children and some excellent storage space, or a fantastic entertainment area. The Aspen will be the newest Lask show home available for viewing this summer. To show how versatile this floor plan can be, the bonus room in the newest version will be designed to be a separate home office including a separate front-door entrance. That’s just the great thing about Lask Homes; they personalize and customize each home to suit those who will live in them. As Kevin says, when you buy a Lask Home, you’re “Ahh...Home at Lask” NL
