Home of Hope
Homes by Avi creation benefits Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation
Anita Bustos is tickled pink to be showing me the Homes by Avi, Home of Hope, a two storey in Copperfield that is you guessed it - accented with pink touches in every room.
The whimsical dashes of pink from curtains to candles and pillows to yes, feather boas, act as a serious reminder that this home is no ordinary show home. The profits from the sale of this 2005 Home of Hope, the “Ainsley” as it is known on the drawing board, go directly to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
As we walk through the home, Anita, who is the Public Relations Coordinator for Homes by Avi, explains the home builder is so committed to the cause that they are planning another Home of Hope in the Edmonton area. In total Homes by Avi is slated to donate $25,000 in profits from the sale of both homes.
“The first Home of Hope we did in 2003/04 was an amazing success – we donated $10,000 to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and in addition we were awarded the CIBC Corporate Team Spirit Award for raising over $12,700 at the 12th annual CIBC Run for the Cure last October.”
Anita says the company is gearing up for the run again this October with even higher expectations, “We want to raise $25,000 in addition to the Homes for Hope.” Homes by Avi will be providing information for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation in all Avi show homes over the coming year. But it is the 2005 Home of Hope, which opened in February, which also provides the well-known pink ribbon to each visitor, that is the highlight of Homes by Avi’s charitable efforts.
Located at 84 Copperstone Gate SE, this show home is the next chapter of an ongoing partnership between Homes by Avi and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation - Alberta/NWT Chapter.
The Home of Hope is full of upgrades that give the Avi trades and design team a chance to showcase their talents. From the skylights in the bonus room down to the graphite stained hardwood on the main floor this home is full of elements buyers are looking for. The open floor plan features a floor to ceiling cultured stone fireplace in the great room, opposite the bright antique white kitchen cabinets and granite countertop on the breakfast bar. The iron spindles and hand wiped maple railings lead you up to the oversize bonus room with tons of natural light thanks to the two skylights. The three bedrooms are generous in size, the master features a private ensuite and walk in closet.
All donations made to the CBCF – Alberta/NWT Chapter go directly to fund, support and advocate for relevant and innovative breast cancer research, meaningful education and awareness programs, early diagnosis and effective treatment and a positive quality of life for those living with breast cancer.
