Sabal Crafted Homes marked its 10th birthday last year by giving customers a present. Buyers of the company’s 10th Anniversary Edition Homes got a superb package of upgrades for very advantageous prices.

Only ten each of four anniversary home models were available, and each one has a plaque in its front sidewalk marking it as something special.

The first of the anniversary edition homes was sold to a young couple, Jason and Lisa. They hosted representatives from Sabal and its suppliers at a recent walk-through of their home, with a small ceremony to unveil their plaque.

They found their new home in the most modern way possible. Jason saw the floorplan on the Internet, and said “That’s the one.” He woke up Lisa, who agreed that was the house they were looking for.

Their first home was a condo in McKenzie Towne, and they’d been shopping for a new house in the southeast, close to their parents’ homes. Their condo was only five minutes from the site of their new home in Copperfield, so they visited every week while it was under construction. All through the process, “Sabal was wonderful,” Lisa says. “They really looked after us. And everything was on time, with no delays at all.”

The model they selected was the Evolution, a two storey home with three bedrooms, a bonus room above the garage, and 2.5 baths.

The 2,018 square foot floor plan has a number of high-end features, including a home office on the main floor and a walk-in closet in every bedroom.

The light, airy foyer opens to the second floor. At the rear of the main floor are the living spaces – a “lifestyle room” with fireplace, the kitchen and the dining area.

The kitchen has a wrap-around eating bar, ample counter space and a large walk-through pantry. The pantry is one of Lisa’s favourite features in the floor plan. It provides fast access from the garage to the kitchen – a handy feature on grocery day. The laundry room is right next to the pantry.

The master suite’s bathroom has two sinks, a soaker tub, a shower stall and private water closet.

The bonus room, already wired for sound and video, was perfect for Jason and Lisa’s home theatre system.

“We asked our suppliers to help us make these homes special,” says Chris Lu, Sabal Marketing manager. With special pricing on outstanding products, Sabal could offer upgrade quality at excellent prices.

Sabal assembled an all-star line-up of suppliers including Delta Faucet Canada, Robinson Lighting & Bath Centre, CWD Windows and Doors, Connie Young Design Collaborative, Hawthorne Interiors Ltd., Superior Cabinets,

Coast Wholesale Appliances, A&B Sound’s custom installations group, Regal Building Materials Ltd., Alberta Hardwood Flooring, Horizon Heating Ltd., Action Door Services and Performer Electric. Some of the suppliers who visited Jason and Lisa’s house commented how nice it was to see their products in a lived-in home instead of a construction site.

Calgary-based Sabal Crafted Homes, a member of the Hopewell Group of Companies, focuses on high-quality starter homes and move-up homes.
