The Alberta New Home Warranty Program has launched a new television series to help Alberta’s growing ranks of new home buyers better understand the process of building a home. The program, called the Home Smart Advantage, is a partnership with CityTV (Channel 8 in Calgary), and features weekly segments on the channel’s popular Breakfast Television show in both Calgary and Edmonton.

The five-minute weekly show will air every Friday in Calgary, beginning September 16, with ANHWP representatives presenting information to help educate home buyers about home building and the buyer’s active role in the process.

“We want to help buyers feel more comfortable with the process and understand what’s going on. So many people buy a house and may not know what their role is, or how to protect their interests,” explains Lucie Desilets, marketing director for The Alberta New Home Warranty Program. “We’ll cover topics like how to choose a builder, what to do to prevent moisture problems in your home, what you should look for during your final walk-through – essential stuff really.”

Other specific topics to be covered on the show include the new ANHWP condominium guidebook, the Moisture Smart builder program, as well as the various protections and warranty services offered by ANHWP.

In addition to the live Breakfast Television segments, an ongoing series of 60-second home buying tips will also be broadcast periodically.
