Currently, Shane Homes is building in 14 communities in and around Calgary, with upcoming show homes in six new communities within the next year. Ongoing projects include the renovation of the Shane Homes headquarters, improvement to the Shane Homes website and an exciting summer promotion, as well as the generous contribution of original dream homes to the Kinsmen Children’s Hospital Home Lotto each year.

The Lotto kicks off on May 30th in Panorama Hills. Shane Homes has specially designed four dream homes, while Genstar supplied the lots for the homes.

“Our commitment is to create unique dream homes for the lottery,” says Shane Wenzel, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Shane Homes.

Two more lucky winners will be walking away with $25,000 combined, as part of Shane Homes’ “Stuff Your Speedo” summer promotional giveaway. From June 1 through September 30, everyone who buys a Shane home or Creations by Shane home will be entered into the draw. Shane home buyers have the opportunity to win $15,000, while Creations by Shane home buyers have the chance to walk away with a cool $10,000.

“This is another big incentive to buy during the summertime,” says Wenzel. “Summer is the best time to buy – for convenience, and ease of moving.”

Online, customers will find it convenient and easy to access shanehomes.com’s new lot inventory. This feature allows shoppers to see which lots are available in specific communities, as well as view detailed information on lots and request to put a lot on hold online.

The web site also includes pricing on homes, a handy search tool, as well as photos and virtual tours of homes, both for Shane Homes and Creations by Shane Homes. Visitors to the Shane website may also notice that the overall look has been spruced up.

Also undergoing a facelift, of considerably larger scale, are the Shane headquarters. The main recipient of upcoming changes will be the Expressions Design Centre, with the renovations bringing its size up to about 5500 square feet. The Design Centre will now have “more of everything,” says Wenzel, with fully functional kitchen layouts, a separate entrance and a 14 foot x 14 foot “Kid Zone”.

In the main office, there will now be a dedicated customer workplace for customers to complete paper work, as well as space for new offices, future expansion, and room for an employee workout facility.

Shane Homes’ show homes will soon be found in a number of new communities in and around Calgary. June will see Shane show homes open in Aspen Stone, along 17th Avenue SW and in Chaparral Ridge, while Creations by Shane Homes will branch out into northeast Calgary’s Saddlebrook.

Chaparral Ridge is a pocket community which sits right on the ridge to the east of Lake Chaparral.

Of Saddlebrook, Wenzel jokes, “We love going east for some reason this year,” adding that this is “a nice entry for Creations in northeast Calgary.”

Shane will debut show homes in Drake Landing in Okotoks this summer. Creations by Shane Homes will also be offering garageless character homes in Drake Landing.

Drake Landing will do its part as a community to conserve water, through a variety of community initiatives and policies. This includes low flush toilets, rain sensors on sprinklers and insulated water pipes, among other things.

“This is a definite concern with homes nowadays – are we using our energy efficiently?” says Wenzel. “This is a small price to pay for protecting a valuable resource.”

In late fall, Shane Homes will be proud to be in Airdrie for the first time, with new show homes in Morningside, to the east of Coopers Crossing. Creations by Shane Homes will also be offering garageless character homes in Morningside.
