Jayman Offers Freedom of Choice in the Village of Prestwick

Located in McKenzie Towne, the Village of Prestwick is an active, family-friendly neighborhood. The neo-traditional architectural styles of the community are present, with front porches, rather than garages, creating a welcoming feel. Four new Jayman show homes in the Village of Prestwick reflect this ideal and offer a range of choices to new home buyers.

“When you have a landing and a garage separating you from the neighbors, you get a nice private area in the backyard,” says Ed Nordlund, executive vice president, Product Development with Jayman Master Builder. “With so much development in Calgary you have the garage in the front – this way there’s the opportunity for more windows, and it adds a nicer exterior to the front of the home.”
In Prestwick, buyers can choose from Jayman’s Glamorgan, Lakeview II, Progress, Image, and Erlton models - a stylish line-up that presents options to everyone from the young family to the mature couple.

The homes are set against the idyllic backdrop of tree-lined boulevards and green space.

Built along a walkway complete with white picket fence and arches, the four Jayman showhomes are located next to the sales centre. The walkway brings you first to the three bedroom, 1981 sq-ft. Glamorgan. This sophisticated home features a foyer with volume ceiling, from which a side hallway leads to the guest bath, laundry, and basement. The stately kitchen, with island and corner pantry, shares a full wall of windows with the great room. In the great room, a gas fireplace and entertainment shelf are complemented by niche shelving above.
The main stairway is accented by stepped shelving, perfect for displaying collectibles, and leads to the open-to-below second floor hallway and “tech center.” The large master suite features an ensuite with shower, soaker tub, large walk-in closet, and dual sinks.

Next is the 1921 sq-ft. Lakeview II, a more mature-feeling home featuring an extended great room option. The large great room with corner fireplace immediately lends the home a very open and welcoming feeling, and leads into the warm kitchen, with a unique zigzag-shaped island. The kitchen features a corner pantry and a bright dining nook surrounded by windows, through which you can enjoy the landscaped backyard. The laundry and guest bath are accessible through an archway off the kitchen.

The main stairway with cast iron railing leads from the front entrance to the upper floor, where three bedrooms and a large bathroom are located. Here, the master suite includes the optional sitting area plan, a nice touch that gives the owner a comfortable area in which to unwind. The master ensuite includes a double-wide shower, corner soaker tub, walk-in closet, and vanity with dual sinks.

“The Progress is brand new,” says Nordlund, and features a raised main floor up a half-flight of stairs from the entrance. This 2052 sq-ft. show home incorporates optional lower level development, with two bedrooms, one bathroom and a family room located on the lower level, down a half-flight of stairs from the entrance.

The main level of the Progress includes the kitchen with island, corner pantry and plenty of cabinet space, a separate entrance from the backyard, and the great room with entertainment shelving, fireplace, and niche display shelving. Another bedroom and the main bath are situated along the hall to the master suite, which is home to a walk-in closet and ensuite bathroom.

The last home in the line-up is the 1541 sq-ft. Erlton, which Nordlund speculates will be the most popular of the four. The great room, with entertainment shelving above a gas fireplace, is situated at the front of the home, and is separated from the kitchen by a feature beam in the ceiling. The kitchen here is set apart by a large island and a wall of cabinets which take the place of a pantry. The bright dining nook, the back entrance and the guest bathroom are all located off the kitchen.

Upstairs, the master suite is located at the front of the home and boasts large windows and an over-sized walk-in closet. This show home features the full ensuite option, with a second bathroom, as well as two more bedrooms, down the hall.

The Jayman showhomes in the Village of Prestwick are open from 2 pm to 8 pm, Monday to Thursday, and from noon to 5 pm, Friday to Sunday, and are located on Prestwick Blvd. SE.
