On the western edge of Tuscany sits a pristine neighborhood where fully 80 per cent of its homes back onto green space. Nestled between estate-level communities, Avi’s Phase 72 of Tuscany, Tuscany Springs, is literally surrounded by forest. It’s close to downtown and major thoroughfares but far enough removed to provide a real sense of seclusion and privacy. It’s truly an oasis in the city.

Reserved exclusively for homes designed and built by Homes by Avi, Tuscany Springs of the Carma community of Tuscany is one of those rare finds that give homeowners an edge in the marketplace. With quick access to one of Canada’s most picturesque landscapes, world class skiing, hiking, golf, and a host of recreational activities, Tuscany Springs meanders through an abundance of natural ravines and winding pathways that lead to over 170 acres of local parks and playgrounds.

Homes by Avi has had a long-standing relationship with Carma. “We respect their level of innovation and are happy to join in and show that we are also a leader in innovation,” says Charron Ungar, Carma’s Vice President of Product Development.

“We were interested in working with Avi on the Tuscany site because of the novel concept they wanted to introduce. They wanted a wider lot that still allowed for the provision of an affordable style of housing – a mid-market – in between the more affordable and the estate product.  With the wider lots, we have appealing elevations that create eclectic streetscapes.”

The Belmont (1716-1726 square feet), The Abbotsford (1577 square feet), and The Grandville (1648 square feet) are new launches for this community by Homes by Avi. They were specifically designed for the wider lots that Tuscany Springs has to offer.

Says Ungar, “This is the first type of product of this kind that Homes by Avi has completed. We’ve seen several examples of it in other markets, but we took the concept and modified it in order to suit our market here in the west. We moved the garage and blended it into the elevation rather than have it as the major focus like you see in the traditional housing concept. Instead, we brought the elevation of the home out towards the street.

“We’ve combined the home and garage with architectural details in three significant styles: Craftsman, Prairie, and Tudor. We’ve incorporated steeper roof pitches. These homes have more street presence.

A darker cladding material and a strong attention to architectural detailing, really helps give the area of Tuscany a strong architectural flavor.

“Inside, by increasing the width of the home, you end up having a lot more room to circulate. The feeling is one of space. We’ve created plans that have brought in a lot of attention with regards to flow. You’re able to walk in and see wide-open foyers leading into large wide spaces, with windows overlooking the exterior green space. It’s bright and airy.”

A visit to the 5000 square foot Avi Selection Center will help you visualize interior and exterior design choices by seeing, touching, and feeling. You can custom choose finishings, doors, plumbing fixtures, kitchen and bath cabinetry, accessories, lighting, and a host of other features that will make your home exclusively yours.
