English charm in New Brighton
Flexibility, stylish country charm makes Hampton II a New Brighton bright spot
Different strokes for different folks, home designs have to always keep this truism in mind, and having a plan that offers maximum flexibility is always important. Which is why Cardel Homes’ Hampton II has always been one of the builder’s most popular models.
When you get a floor plan with 10 different design options then you know you’re in the presence of genius. This has been key to the Hampton’s popularity, it seems to go well with any lifestyle – from young couples, to small families and even families with older children – its appeal is pretty universal.
The Hampton II show home in the southeast community of New Brighton makes a perfect example. At 2,488 square-feet, this show home is a stunner, as can be expected from the multi-awarded builder.
But what makes it special is the amount of detail that went into the home. From the coffered ceiling in the dining room to the walk-thru closet in the master bedroom that leads straight to the second floor laundry, Hampton II sparkles with stylish design and practicality.
“We put a contemporary spin on a traditional design — we have a front office but it’s not your usual enclosed room but a more free-flowing one, we have a state-of-the-art galley style kitchen that is as functional as it is stylish and loads of amenities to fit the needs of today’s families,” says Cardel’s Ron Kerr.
The Hampton II can actually be made starting at 2,237 square-feet and the show home in the idyllic southeast neighbourhood of New Brighton exhibits the enormous potential of the model.
Cardel Homes used a kitchen design option that added 89 square-feet to the standard model, an alternate upper floor plan that puts in an additional 136 square-feet, plus using an elevation that gives it 26 square-feet more. But even just the standard model is roomy enough. “Hampton II is a big, comfortable, yet very affordable home that gives families room to grow,” Kerr adds.
It has a free flowing, open design that is very appealing to people who love to entertain. The galley kitchen is an especially stunning and stylish fit for this purpose, with its gleaming, granite countertops that provide plenty of elbow room to the chef, and the long centre island that not only adds to the design flow of the kitchen but is also a very handy workspace. Having the microwave built in the centre island is another brilliant idea to keep the design flow of the elegant, full-height, European-inspired cabinetry.
“There are much more stylish storage space in the drawers and cabinets that we put into the show home, which just goes to show the enormous potential of the home not to mention our team’s design prowess,” Kerr says.
The walk-thru closet isn’t a new idea, of course, but having it lead directly from the master bedroom to the second storey laundry is a brilliant innovation. “It’s hugely practical and is one of the features most commented on by visitors to the show home,” he adds.
The way the bonus room was set up as a game room — complete with foosball table and fan-boy posters — has also been a hit, Kerr says, pointing out that kids beg their parents to get this house solely because of that feature.
Hampton II is indeed a home for the family, but its address in family-oriented community of New Brighton makes it an even better fit. “You get membership to the New Brighton Club, there are plenty of schools nearby and the new hospital will be just down the road on Marquis of Lorne Trail, and loads of amenities on High Street and the 130 Avenue shopping malls,” Kerr adds.
