A meandering, natural creek at your back door; a wetland splendour where the twitter of birds makes one forget that just beyond the ornate stone gate is the buzzing, vibrant city of Airdrie — Williamstown is indeed a neighbourhood where nature and sustainable design come together to provide a convenient, scenic enclave designed for today’s families.

The opening of this premier, environmentally appealing neighbourhood on October 24th was a big hit, and it quickly garnered praise — and generated quite a few sales — with the amazing range of single-family homes and townhomes it has. Not to mention the tremendous amenities and easy-living lifestyle it offers.

Named after William McKenzie, an Alberta pioneer who gave Airdrie its name in 1889, this new master-planned community in the city’s northwestern edge promises to set a milestone that honours the city’s past as much as it provides for the future of its residents.

Vesta Group’s most ambitious project to date is a first for Airdrie in many things, not the least of which is its location on Nose Creek. Williamstown backs onto the 45–acre Nose Creek environmental reserve — the largest natural amenity in Airdrie — and because it is a protected area, residents have the peace of mind that they can enjoy this natural feature for all time.

“Williamstown is all about lifestyle,” says Vesta Sales and Marketing Manager Judy Rohatyn. “It is an affordable community with 60 acres of open space, including extensive trails that connect to over 20 kilometres of regional pathways.”

Williamstown will be home to about 1,000 families and, judging from the public’s initial reaction, that quota will be filled up in a very short time.

“We had such an enthusiastic response from visitors and homebuyers when we opened,” Rohatyn adds. Williamstown offers a variety of home styles, from single-family bungalows and two-storey homes to beautiful townhomes.

Together they create a neighbourhood for all lifestyles.

Great care and attention to detail was made in creating the community itself. In keeping with Williamstown’s historic look, single-family homes feature a mix of Arts and Crafts and Craftsman exterior designs and townhomes are
in the Classic Colonial style.

Vesta Properties’ Prestwick show home is a perfect example of the kind of well-designed homes available here with the looks and affordable luxury for today’s families. The 2,150-square-foot, three-bedroom home is turning into a bestseller, with features that wow homebuyers.

Area Sales Manager Andre Aubut says the Prestwick’s design flexibility, its deluxe kitchen and ensuite, and stately elegance appeals to a wide range of buyers.
Homes are also now selling from Talisman Homes and Douglas Homes. “Visitors and customers are impressed with the exceptional quality in interior design and attention to detail and quality craftsmanship,” Rohatyn says. “They are also amazed with the affordability and value.”

Vesta is also the exclusive builder of townhomes in the community. The Trails at Williamstown are generously sized townhomes starting at 1,100 square-feet. They have flexible layouts available in a variety of configurations, with nine-foot ceilings, kitchens with corner pantries, raised eating bars and backyards with decks. Special presale pricing is available plus a $4,500 value upgrade package. “Interest and sales have been very active from the Discovery Centre,” Rohatyn says.

The Discovery Centre is another feature that sets Williamstown apart from the crowd. It is a state-of-the-art, interactive information centre that provides answers to the many questions homebuyers may have about the community as a whole, as well as showcases Airdrie’s newest townhomes.

“It’s a very special neighbourhood that introduces something new to Airdrie and people really want to be part of it,” she adds.
