It sounds inconceivable: Maritime living in land-locked southern Alberta. But the genius of Genesis Land Development has made such a lifestyle possible and one only need look at the success of its Bayside community in Airdrie to see how seaside resort living works in the prairies.

Genesis just opened their two new impressive show homes in Bayside, and the stream of traffic there on the weekends just proves that this distinctive community on Airdrie’s western edge continues to be one of the hottest real estate deals in town.

The 1,903-square-foot Ascot is a stunning two-storey attached garage estate home, and the 1,306-square-foot Brookhaven shows off their bungalow design expertise. Both would look quite at home in the Maritimes with their steep roof pitches and distinguishing decorative treatments.

“They really capture the imagination of the people who go through these two show homes, they just bring out the best in what life in Bayside can be like,” says Genesis Builders Group’s Anni Jansson.

Bayside is built on and surrounded by water, with over six kilometres of canal waterways and a five acre community pond, water is not only prevalent in Bayside; it’s a way of life. There are walking paths along the waterways too and residents can really enjoy the tranquil beauty of the surroundings no matter the season.

In the Estate phases nearly 80 per cent of all homes have private water access and nearly 50 per cent of all homes have the capability of installing private boat docks.

“Bayside offers something for everyone, from the single professionals to the young couples, and families with older children and up to the empty-nesters, it really does offer a lifestyle that can suit a wide range of needs,” Jansson adds.

“We have over a dozen plans to offer that will suit individual needs, all the way from starter homes to executive estate homes,” she says.

Bayside also boasts larger lots, including walk-outs, some as large as 42 feet wide and as long as 125 feet.

Their smallest home in Bayside is the 1,261-square-foot Arabella, which starts at $279,900, and this goes up to the low- to mid-$500,000s for the 2,650 square-foot Rockwell. “For such an executive lifestyle, living in Bayside is really very affordable.”

With the new Nose Creek Elementary School open and an integrated regional pathway system connecting parks and recreation facilities to the open green spaces, Bayside truly brings extraordinary value and amenities of a close-knit community. “Our proximity to Cross Iron Mills is also a big plus.”
