The heart of New Brighton
Heartland Homes unveils prototype in New Brighton
The innovative use of space is underlined as Heartland Homes unveils The Newbury, its latest model in New Brighton that combines all the best features needed for those just starting out in life — affordability that doesn’t scrimp on convenience or design sense.
Starting at 1,240 square-feet, The Newbury combines style and accessibility like never before, as it is Heartland’s lowest priced home but still manages to include everything needed in a first-time buyer’s home.
“It is rare for a single family home at this size to be able to fit in three bedrooms and two-and-a-half baths like we were able to do with the Newbury,” says Heartland Homes’ Jill Maryniuk. “It has many features yet, it is affordable at a starting price in the low $300,000s.”
She adds that homes at the 1,200-square-foot range rarely — if ever — get to fit in all these features. “You usually get three bedrooms with one-and-a-half bath at that size, but our design team still found a way to incorporate a master bedroom with attached three-piece ensuite and walk-in closet, and another full bath upstairs along with two other bedrooms with a powder room downstairs for guests and extra convenience. All this without compromising quality.”
Functionality and affordability is at the heart of The Newbury. It has everything singles, or young couples or a new family might want in a home — including a large dining area adjacent to an L-shaped kitchen with centre island.
“We really like the kitchen, there’s plenty of workspace and the big centre island provides the perfect centre point for the work flow,” she adds.
A spacious great room with a welcoming foyer is well lit with natural lighting from the big windows out front. In fact, its wholesome, compact-but-comfy design makes it even appealing to any family, she adds.
“It’s great for young families starting out, really nice for couples. With all the extra rooms upstairs — not to mention an option of developing the basement with us - it has room to grow without having to go out of budget,” Maryniuk points out.
The open concept floor plan makes it a terrific home for entertaining — the great room, dining and kitchen are in one continuous space making it easy to host even large gatherings. “It also makes the home seem bigger than its actual size, there’s plenty of room to grow,” Maryniuk says.
The Newbury also has an option for a front porch, which gives the home an extra street-friendly appeal and additional space to entertain guests outdoors.
The Newbury is next to the Heartland Homes’ New Brighton parade, “It’s the first one we ever built, it’s a prototype, one that we are really excited about and we see a lot of possibilities for, and visitors have to arrange with the sales staff atthe parade to view it.”
The Newbury shows that a home doesn’t have to be bare bones to be affordable, and all it takes is a little bit of design innovation. NL
