Jayman celebrates 30th anniversary in style in Mahogany
A 30th anniversary is traditionally celebrated with a gift of pearls; and, with three decades of building excellence in Calgary, Jayman MasterBUILT presents a couple of new show homes in the lakeside community of Mahogany that are as elegant and classy as any pearl necklace.
The Simcoe and The Windhaven just opened in the newest show home parade in this booming community in the southeast and they both exemplify the enduring, timeless quality of single-family living that Jayman has always espoused, but with new twists that bring them to the cutting edge of home designs for the 21st century.
From their open concept design and standard nine-foot ceilings and stately window walls at the rear of the homes, these homes create an environment of warmth and conviviality that few can equal, and perfectly match the luxurious lakeside living that Mahogany inspires. The gleaming finish, including a Nordlund gourmet kitchen option, gives them a modern flourish and a picture-perfect magazine gloss that presents the ideal family home at its very best.
The 2,064-square-foot Simcoe is sleek and stylish with the show home’s open-to-above great room that gives it not only a regal elegance but an infectious sunny disposition as well.
“The great room really comes alive with the big windows that Jayman is famous for and the open-to-above design that gives it a lot of drama and character, and the flush-to-the-wall fireplace adds to the contemporary flair,” says area manager Michael MacLean. “People come here and they are so amazed by the way the room comes together.”
The massive kitchen complements this design with its polished Ceasar stone countertops alongside the darkly stained cabinetry that combines to offer a real functional elegance about it; a Martha Stewart air of kitchen confidence as it were. Like all of Jayman homes, the Simcoe’s kitchen is dotted with several pot lights to give it a more polished look.
The Windhaven is 2,491 square-feet and features a knockout Nordlund gourmet kitchen that would tickle anyone’s fancy regardless if they cook or not. It has miles of counter space in stately Italian marble that provides plenty of room for cuisine creations or as an entertaining hot spot.
The centre island has a hollow middle to hide away a couple of barstools when not in use; it also has extra cabinetry that provides useful storage space. The corner pantry is spacious enough to meet the storing needs of big families, and the built-in oven and microwave along the cabinetry gives it a sleek, seamless look.
“People are starting to look for this built-in experience in their kitchens, which gives a very functional yet elegant look to the whole main floor,” MacLean adds.
The upper floor has an equally impressive design, including vaulted ceilings in the spare rooms, the spindle staircase splits off into two wings: one to the master bedroom and the other to the very spacious bonus room that even has a street-facing balcony and the spare bedrooms.
“The beauty of the Windhaven is the master bedroom is located in a different section of the house to provide more privacy to the owners, with the huge bonus room and the two kids’ bedrooms in a completely different part,” MacLean says.
Both show homes veered from the ubiquitous walk-thru pantry and upper floor laundries to signify a new trend in functionality. “Our home designs are flexible enough to include these features if the owners want them,” MacLean says. “But for these show homes we decided to aim the design more towards the stay-at-home moms (or dads) who would rather do their chores on the main floor where they can keep an eye on the house and do other tasks, like cook, pay the bills or watch the kids play, while doing the laundry.
“The corner walk-in pantry we felt also offered more convenience and storage space as it allows for more shelving than a walk-thru pantry,” he points out.
But, functionality aside, both the Simcoe and Windhaven show homes were designed to impress, and they do. Which is not an easy feat considering the level of competition in this lakeside enclave. The James Hardy siding of their homes virtually guarantees that homes will retain their elegance and looks, even after the 15-year build-out time for the community is past.
“Looking forward, Mahogany will be a top area for Jayman, it will be an exciting area of growth and the show homes we have here with their attention to every detail will be very much part of that success,” MacLean says.
The Simcoe starts at $445,000, while the Windhaven is at $487,000, although Jayman MasterBUILT homes in Mahogany start from $424,900. Be sure to ask for special offers that the builder is offering as part of their 30th Anniversary promotions. NL
