Loving Airdrie Living: Reunite with Reunion
There has never been a better time to get reacquainted with Airdrie’s premiere new community
Launched in the fall of 2007, Reunion has come to life in Airdrie and now is not only a place to call home, but also a lifestyle choice that combines family-oriented amenities with comfortable, small town living. The community, created by award-winning developer Hopewell Residential Communities, comprises 150 acres of land that includes 758 single-family homes, two multi-family projects, green space, play areas, pathways and, in the near future, a scenic pond.
Reunion’s evolution is not far from that of Airdrie, the village-turned-city that has grown and changed greatly over the years, but has managed to avoid the hustle and bustle of metropolitan life. And like Airdrie itself, Reunion captures what so many buyers are looking for in the new housing market — a family-friendly community with a small-town feel, just on the rim of the big city. With major shopping and entertainment amenities nearby, Reunion’s enviable location puts it within a few minutes drive from shops and services in Airdrie, with direct access to CrossIron Mills only a short 15-minute drive away. There is also easy access to Highway 2 and Stoney Trail, giving residents a quick route to the airport as well as to points across Calgary and beyond.
“With its unique concept of architecture and design, and quick access to a wide range of amenities in both Airdrie and nearby Calgary, it’s easy to see why interest in Reunion continues to grow,” says Carlie Leask, Hopewell’s Marketing & Communications Co-ordinator.
Reunion has been designed specifically for family living, and is a perfect choice because of its accessible price point, lot sizes, location and quality of homes.
“Reunion’s outstanding builder group provides innovative designs ideally suited to the lifestyle preferences of a modern family,” adds Leask. “Excel Homes, McKee Homes, Sabal Homes and Hopewell have joined forces to create a community that caters to people of all ages.”
Builders will be selling into the fourth and fifth phases of the community this year, with a sixth phase underway. A small selection of lots from earlier phases are still available, but over 90 per cent of these lots have already been sold.
There are currently two show home parades open in Reunion, including five laned homes by Sabal Homes, and three front garage homes by Excel, McKee and Sabal Homes. Both offerings have proven very popular with first-time and move-up buyers.
Reunion’s stylish laned homes with detached garages range from 1,033 to 1,704 square-feet, and offer an affordable price point starting in the $270,000s, plus fantastic curb appeal and timeless design.
Front garage homes are larger in size and range from 1,614 to 2,341 square-feet, with prices starting in the mid-$300,000s. These homes feature a variety of floorplans to meet the differing needs and lifestyles of homeowners, with architectural features designed to appeal to both modern and traditional tastes.
Four architectural styles are featured in Reunion, with Craftsman, Classical, Prairies and Arts & Crafts themes. Within each style, there is a comprehensive selection of appropriate building forms including character details such as gable treatments, porch columns and creative window details. Reunion’s streetscapes are defined by elements including wide eaves, symmetrical front gables, front porches, tall windows and strong rooflines.
“These are all features that help shape Hopewell’s vision for architectural quality throughout the community and, ultimately, provides homebuyers the opportunity to choose a style that suits their individual needs and tastes,” says Leask.
A front yard landscaping package is included with every Reunion home, and helps new homeowners establish an inviting home landscape easily and quickly with a $1,260 certificate to be used towards the purchase of tress, plants, sod or a rainwater collection system.
And in this ever-evolving high-tech world, Hopewell takes care of new homeowners’ technology needs as well. Reunion’s Shaw Technology Package is included with every home purchase and features an HDPVR , six-months of TV plus movie bundle with HD plus, six months of high-speed internet and a cost-saving digital phone plan.
“It’s easy to see why so many families are choosing to build their futures here,” says Leask. “Reunion is a refreshing twist on traditional living where life is reminiscent of a simpler time.”
