Creating a personality for each show home is a skill Cedarglen Homes seems to have mastered with ease, as their latest offering in Cranston is likely to stay in the minds of potential buyers for a long time.

“The show home is intended to give each visitor a feel of what it’s like to be living here and our designers really do a good job creating homes that leave a huge impression on anyone,” says area manager Dennis Mullen. “But I have to say that even held to our high standards, the Sedona show home is exceptional and it’s easy to see why it has become one of our most popular models.”

He adds that it’s not only the glamorously stylish design of the show home that makes people feel so comfortable as soon as they enter, but also the smooth design flow that makes even the most casual visitor imagine living their lives here.

If Sedona had a personality, it would be that of a practical, level headed parent that knows how to have fun. “It does have it’s functional side, but that doesn’t mean it’s boring. It’s a very easy house to fall in love with,” Mullen says.

Sedona has the functionality that families like to have in their homes, with wide-open spaces in the main floor that are at once intimate and vibrant. The nine-foot ceiling extends to 11-feet in the dining nook at the far end of the home, combining nicely with the tall windows to give the whole interior a warm, friendly ambience.

There’s a big centre island that creates a lovely spot for entertaining guests, but since it also has an extended ledge it’s also a handy location for quick meals for families on the go. “Granite countertops are standard in Cedarglen’s 30th year anniversary package for all Cranston models as are hardwood and tile flooring and upgraded cabinets that really brings out the style in the functionality of the home,” Mullen adds.

The French doors in the home office/den at the front of the home is also standard to add just a little more pizzazz in the 2,186-square-foot Sedona show home (although it starts at 2,143 square-feet, as the show home includes all the options available to this model that increases its size by about 40 feet).

The desktop in the kitchen makes it a handy spot where owners can set a laptop where they can do their business while still keeping an eye on the rest of the household. “We also took care to have enough storage space throughout the home, because that is the one thing that families most need in a home,” Mullen says.

“I would have to say, though, that the most popular part of the Sedona is its spa-like ensuite attched to the master bedroom, and many buyers want to include this option in their plans, and I don’t blame them as it really presents a very relaxing tableau especially with the luxurious soaker tub and the oversized shower stall, it’s a total treat,” he adds.

The bonus room at the front end of the upper floor also makes visitors stop and think, as it does offer a cool place to host movie nights with friends, it’s lower by two stair steps from the rest of the upper floor giving it a sense of privacy, like a world of its own.

“But the main thing with the Sedona and building with Cedarglen, there are so many options that you can really create your own personalized Sedona. You even have the option to build a fourth bedroom in the second floor, or bring the laundry room downstairs or upstairs to fit your lifestyle,” Mullen adds.

At a price of $435,000 including lot and GST, the Sedona seems to be a real crowd pleaser, but Mullen says that they offer an even sweeter package in Crnaston.

“Our best priced house model in this market is the Hanna at $383,000, including lot and GST.  It is 1,700 square-feet and a promo house so it includes everything in our 30-year anniversary package of hardwood, granite, tile, and upgraded cabinets.”
