Loving Airdrie Living: The sharpest Edge
New show suites hone The Edge
The cool factory is now open for business, and The Edge by Streetside Development promises to change the condo living scene in Airdrie and give it a new, sharper more urban edge.
The Edge recently opened their new show suites displaying the tasteful potential of the lifestyle offered by Streetside’s inaugural Airdrie offering.
“We have completely renovated the Presentation Centre to feature the new designs we’ve come up with, which reflect Streetside’s tastes for more modern, functional layouts,” says Streetside’s Mandy Adams.
The suite tweaks were very well received and The Edge latest phase took off like a shot with several sales already. “We have sold eight homes in the last week since we opened the new show suites,” says Anna Kayat, a lead sales consultants at The Edge.
The kitchen was given a complete makeover during the renovations, improving the original designs by heightening its functionality, and putting in more counter space that adds to the workspace of the busy chef as well as the entertainment factor that every kitchen needs.
The Presentation Centre features some upgrades to give buyers a taste of what they can have, but that’s not to say their standard packages are any less admirable. Each unit has nine-foot-high ceilings; but top floor units have ceilings that stretch up to 16-feet, and those have been one of the most popular units.
The Edge also offers the easy convenience of being located right next door to Genesis Place, and rests in between the city’s bustling industrial area and its miles of green space and a city park right at its backyard.
Streetside came in to complete the second building of the project after its original developers became a victim of the recent economic downturn. But the fact that the first building sold out despite the turbulent economy is testament to the overall appeal of The Edge. “And as the foundation and parkade for the second building are already in place, it gives us an added leg up so we can offer a faster move-in time,” Adams says.
The Edge’s biggest advantage remains to be its very appealing location on East Lake Boulevard, right on the border separating Airdrie’s industrial area and the city’s extensive parks and pathways system.
It’s one of the best locations in Airdrie, you have wide green space at your backyard that will likely never be obstructed, Genesis Place is just across the parking lot, and it remains quite accessible to the major thoroughfares so going in and out of the community is no problem.
“People are excited for the second building,” says Kayat, and they will not be disappointed, especially as prices remain at a very affordable starting point of $155,000.
The Edge is attracting a lot of single professionals and young couples. “Our designs really appeal to a wide sector of the market,” Adams says. Possessions can be as early as 10 months.
The Edge is a four-storey condominium community that will have a total of 119 units in the two buildings when complete.
