NuVista Homes’ Rosewood brings fab to family home

The quest to designing the perfect family home never really stops at NuVista Homes. Their line of front-drive, move-up homes have the style, charm, practicality and affordability needed by any family home, but their flexibility is something that the renowned home builder is justifiably proud of.

Take for example their popular show home, Rosewood, in Evanston. “Fabulous” comes to mind once you enter, everything about this front-drive, four bedroom home in this newly established community in the northwest is all about meeting the needs of the family.

But the 2,238-square-foot home has even more to offer, says area sales manager, Susan Sandberg. “The Rosewood plan is derived from our best-selling model, the Kirkwood, but has a smaller footprint so it can fit in more lots.”

She adds that the beauty of the design — as do all NuVista homes — lies in its flexibility. “We can even put an extra bedroom and full bath on the main floor of the Rosewood, which is a design option that we’re seeing a lot more of these days,” she tells New Home Living. “We can personalize the home to suite the buyers’ needs.”

NuVista’s ability to innovate and adapt to the needs of the market will be on display once again when they launch their newest plan in Redstone in May. The 2,553-square-foot, four-bedroom Inverness promises to bring a new standard of comfort and design stylishness to the family home. The open concept design is augmented by a lounge, to add to the great room, dining room and kitchen.

The comfortable nature of Rosewood is perfectly captured in its down-to-earth great room. The centre fireplace and oversized windows bring a sunlit cheerfulness to the interior. It looks great as a sitting room where guests can have tea, and the nine-foot ceiling complements the inviting countenance.

The kitchen is a masterful display of form fulfilling function with a little bit of fancy thrown in. “It’s great for parties, the centre island with white quartz tops is a perfect setting to entertain and a brilliant workspace that provides a lot of flow,” Sandberg says. The cabinet molding brings the cabinetry to the ceiling for a more continuous look, wall appliances add to its seamless style.

The dining room is as elegant as the rest of the home, and the oversized windows add to its picturesque nature. But the flexibility the Rosewood’s plan offers is its best feature. “We’ve been seeing more families bringing in their elderly parents to live with them, and we can accommodate this by adding an extra bedroom and full bath in the main floor in this plan,” Sandberg says.

The centrally located bonus room at the top of the stairs is one of Rosewood’s most beloved features. “It gives everyone in the family a place where they can get together for movie nights or game nights, but because it separates the master bedroom from the three other bedrooms, it gives everyone their privacy,” she says.

Evanston is one of the most family-friendly neighbourhoods in Calgary, and it helps that it is almost completely built out. “It is a newly established community with plenty of already-existing amenities. You don’t have to wait years to enjoy the benefits of having groceries, schools and entertainment establishments near to home.”

The walk-through pantry with ceramic tile flooring and plenty of shelving space is one of the most important features of the Rosewood. “It is an essential for many families. There’s lots of storage space and it is a straight shot from the garage through the mud room. That is a helpful convenience when you’re bringing in groceries.”

The five-piece master ensuite is as relaxing as you’d think. It comes standard with twin sinks, a separate tub, glass shower stall, a private water closet, and a large walk-in closet. The second-floor laundry room is just as spacious to meet the needs of big families.
