New ridge lots focus on Legacy’s natural bounty

There is already a lot to love in Legacy, but this award-winning, master-planned family-oriented community in the southeast is getting even better.

Legacy ascends to its vision with the release of their latest phase of estate lots, as this WestCreek Developments community continues to win hearts and minds among homebuyers.

New estate show homes from Morrison Homes and Crystal Creek Homes are open and they are causing quite a stir. “We’ve been really excited to see what our builders can do with those exquisite views in this latest estate phase, and they did not disappoint,” says Kalida Goldade, marketing manager at WestCreek Developments.

“These are our first new estate show homes in over two years, and they pair well with this newest phase of the development,” she says. “These are the best lots Legacy has to offer to date they overlook the forest and environmental reserve. This is also the introduction of Crystal Creek with their first show home in the community.”

This latest estate phase offers up to 48-foot-wide lots on the ridge, a rarity in Calgary these days. The new estate show homes are at 307 and 299 Legacy Mount S.E.

Estate homes in this new phase range from 1,500 to 3,200 square-feet, Goldade says. Both Morrison Homes and Crystal Creek have quick possession homes in the community on both interior lots and ridge lots. Homes on the ridge start in the $900,000s and there are interior lot options in the $600,000s for Estate homes.

“There is a variety of homes available, with bungalows, walkouts, triple car garages on interior lots. Ridge lots and park lots are available,” she adds.

To spice things up, Legacy is sponsoring food-tasting events at the new estate show homes every second week throughout the summer. “Different foods featuring different Macleod Trail businesses will be available for free and entertainment will be provided, as well,” she says, adding that people will have to keep an eye out for their grand opening event on September 15.

 Goldade says Calgarians are hungry for estate homes. They not only find a multitude of options for these in Legacy but they also get an “escape from the hustle and bustle” of city life that the community just off Macleod Trail and 210 Avenue S.E. can provide.

“Legacy is an estate community from beginning to end and this new phase is just an amplification of that. This is really the best option for ridge lots in South Calgary. We see a lot of buyers looking to upgrade their home, in both size and quality. A lot of the surround communities have homes between 40 and 60 years old and they are looking for a new home that has everything they have dreamed about,” she says.

Estate homes in the first phase are still available from Calbridge Homes, Albi Luxury by Brookfield Residential, and Morrison Homes, “but lots are becoming limited especially on that portion of the ridge,” Goldade says.

Legacy itself continues improving. “We’ve enjoyed a big year with the first commercial in the community opening in June of 2018 and another site under construction right now. There are new parks and new accesses down to the environmental reserve going in as well.”

Legacy covers the full range of home options that fit every lifestyle. From the apartment condominiums and townhomes in several multi-family developments, to single-family homes including duplexes, laned, and front-drive homes.

There are 42 show homes of every type of these offerings that can inform interested buyers not only of the kinds of home they can have here, but the kind of life they can lead here as well.

Yet even more to look forward to is the release of new move-up homes in Legacy’s thickly forested area. “It’s a tricky thing to accomplish, but these homes are being built right in the midst of this thicket of trees, and will be from our own WestCreek Homes and Trico Homes,” she says.

New townhomes from Stepper Homes and Trico Homes have also been introduced, Goldade says.

Legacy is truly shaping up to be a community for the future. “This is a community for everyone, where families can put down roots. Where you can buy your first home and move on to a bigger family home and onto a downsizer home without leaving the community. It has all the amenities you will ever need close at hand and you can see even more coming in the horizon,” Goldade says.

“The southern part of Calgary is booming and there are a lot more employment opportunities within a 15 minute drive from Legacy. The imminent completion of the Stoney Trail ring road will connect Legacy like never before, which means buying in Legacy now gets you in the ground floor of this new growth that’s happening around us.”

WestCreek Developments is never one to sit on its laurels, and they already have plans in place for their next communities. Wolf Willow — just up the road from Legacy — is in the early stages of planning and development, while sales have started at Cornerbrook in the northeast of Calgary. “We’re excited about all these developments, and trust me, we’re just getting started,” Goldade says.
