Sadly, for many of us, it’s just about fall again. Time to rake the leaves, blow out the underground sprinklers, mow the lawn for the last time and harvest the garden. Between work and watching football games of course.
For many people, the kickoff to the NFL season is the signal to start to cozy up their homes for the coming winter – with things like fireplaces, quilts and Feng Shui. Yes, Feng Shui! This Oriental, minimalist decorating style which incorporates all elements of a room from furniture colours and textures to plants, rocks and water, has survived to become more than just a passing trend. And done right, as we see in our front cover story, it can be downright cool.
Also in this edition, in response to reader feedback asking for even more information on new communities and specific home builders, we’re introducing two new departments to the magazine: Community Profile and Builder Profile. I think the titles pretty much speak for themselves. Another new regular, It’s About Choices, is focused on the various options and decisions in the homebuilding process; from choosing a community, a lot, or a builder, to picking out flooring or fixtures. You may have a lot more choices than you think. Each month we’ll help shed some light on some of the decisions, and upgrade opportunites, that exist.
