Love month
February may be the middle of a cold prairie winter here in Calgary but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing to love this time of the year. At the risk of being labeled a lame romantic (at best) or a crass opportunist cashing in on the Valentine’s Day stampede — February is the love month here at New Home Living.
Our New Home Lifestyle feature on Vanessa and Terry Stevens emphasizes the point, as the couple not only found love, but a home they can love, in Brookfield Homes’ Belvedere in Auburn Bay. I must say that this newest section of the magazine has been getting a lot of positive feedback and if you’re a new home owner who wants to talk to us about the whole process of building a home, please let us know.
The Calgary Home + Garden Show is another thing we love about February, and this year’s edition promises to be the biggest one yet with Bryan Bauemler headlining the all-star cast of design and renovation experts and celebrities.
Our love for master bedroom designs is also highlighted this issue, with local designer Andrea Raimandi advising to let your personality reign in creating your unique ambience in this innermost sanctum of the home.
The love for our new show homes and communities is, of course, what keeps us going, and we have lovely line-up of the latest offerings from some of the city’s biggest builders and developers. We start this month’s tour with our cover story on La Vita Land’s development, Fireside, which is turning out to be the premiere family-friendly community for first time homebuyers in Cochrane. Speaking of starters, Innovations by Jayman is also just opening two new show homes in Chaparral Valley that puts a new spin on the starter home — single-car front attached garage homes which are being introduced to this southeast neighbourhood for the first time. Creations by Shane Homes also have a hit on their hands with their Gardenwalk line of side-by-side homes in King’s Heights in Airdrie, while Baywest Homes goes big in WestLand Estates with their unique take on a luxurious affordability with Nevada II.
Calgary’s new home market seems to have fully recovered from the economic downturn and everything is pointing to rosier times ahead, rest assured New Home Living will be there to give you the latest and most happening news and events that will affect the market.
