Qualico Communities on the horizon
Will soon be bringing four new neighbourhoods to the Calgary and area landscape.
The Pillars of Royal Oak is sprouting up in the northwest, with six show homes in the works and poised to open this fall. Qualico builders NuVista, Broadview as well as Sterling Homes will each have two show homes for would-be buyers to see to get a feel for the architecture of the area, which will be a blend of Colonial styles of housing.
Homes are likely to be priced from the low $400,000s, many of which will back onto “a beautiful municipal reserve,” according to Lori Masse, Qualico Communities’ marketing manager. Two phases, the first with 77 lots and the second with 76, are slated for the northwesterly community.
Also in preliminary planning stages is 300 acres east of Calgary in Langdon, which Qualico plans to incorporate starter home product as well as move-up addresses into the mix. “The vision, really, is to create communities people can move into and move up, all the way to retirement,” says Masse.
Finally, Qualico is heading south to Okotoks, where The Hill of Westridge is slated to hit the not-so-sleepy bedroom community. Homes will be Arts and Crafts, Colonial, and a few other architectural styles, and will include both homes with front-attached abodes and garageless gems possibly sitting on home sites as wide as 48 feet. 150 lots are the goal for the area, which Qualico is hoping to have in the ground by late 2006.
