Boy have things changed! Thanks to Canada Lands and Calgary builders, new homes and condominiums are going up like crazy in what is a prime, prime location.

And, what’s really neat is you can still see the old wood plank construction of some of the old ‘army houses’ as they take them down right next to where the new ones are going up. One such new show home is the latest offering from Artisan Homes. It’s not ready yet, says Vie Bates of Artisan, but should be ready by mid-September. I toured the unfinished home and I think some people might be surprised they can get such a great home in such a fantastic location. Being able to build here really is a special opportunity. One that isn’t lost on Artisan Homes who have loaded this unique Craftsman style design with plenty of upscale featues like hardwood and ceramic tile floors, granite countertops, and two fireplaces, including one separating the master bedroom and ensuite.

Long-time Calgarians like myself will just have to get used to seeing a beautiful new community there instead of those old army ‘matchboxes’. We’ll be seeing more of this particular home in our next edition.
