Shane Homes volunteers paint history

Pepper Rodriguez

Volunteers from Shane Homes made their mark in history after finishing their second painting project at the Heritage Park Historical Village in early May.

Toiling away in bouts of rain and sun, some 30 staff members from the respected builder volunteered for the two-day job to paint The Enterprise Livery Stable at the theme park.

Ron Heggs, Director of Special Projects for Shane Homes and the main organizer for this project says, “Our goal in painting the stable was to keep the building looking authentic.  We worked with the team at Heritage Park to make sure we kept the look of the era the building was from by using the paint and a colour that was used during this period of time.”

Shane Wenzel, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing adds “It is very rewarding to be able to help Heritage Park, both from a corporate point of view and personally for our staff involved in the project.  Lots of families from Calgary and surrounding areas pass through the gates at Heritage Park every year and it’s nice to be able to give back to the community in this way.”
