“This past year we went past 7,500 homes … so we decided we would give away $75,000 and we thought we would share that with our custom­ers,” said Shane Wenzel, senior vice-president of sales and mar­ket­­ing at Shane Homes.

Shama Ali and fam­ily were the lucky winners of the mad money, after being chosen along with ten other finalist families to vie for the top prize. But they had to work for the bounty—by smashing a piggy bank with a ham­mer. Don’t worry—safety goggles and hard­hats were worn at all times by the conten­ders at the September 13 event!

While they may not have won the big money, no one came away empty-handed. All fina­lists took away cheques for amounts ranging from $5,000 to $1,000, to make up the remainder of the $75,000 giveaway.
