Lots On The Go With Genstar
Time is running out to snag a slice of lakeside living in landlocked Calgary, says Terry Smith, senior development manager for Calgary South at Genstar Development Company, who just released its penultimate phase of lake-access and lakebacking homesites in Lake Chaparral.
"These are some of the last lake-access lots. What that means is people can literally walk out their doors with their kayak and get on the water via a semi-private dock," says Smith.
Homes by Avi, Cedarglen Homes and Jayman MasterBuilt are crafting exclusive estate addresses on the $200,000 to near $500,000 parcels, spanning generous 48- to 62-foot widths, with many on walkout grades in Chapala Point, Chaparral's latest phase of just 25 lots. The final phase for Chapala Point is slated for release next year.
Meanwhile, Genstar is hard at work masterplanning plenty of other communities for would be buyers to call home, including Walden a 570-acre parcel south of Chaparral set to house 2,500 families within its village-themed boundaries, a charming commercial centre typical of a small town, and a possible nine-hole golf course.
"We will try to retain the natural trees and have everything people need readily available, like you would in a village setting, with architecture of the same high quality as Evergreen or Lake Chaparral," adds Smith of the area slated to welcome residents some time in 2008.
