Santa and Albi ‘elves’ surprise school kids

Santa was a little early, but no one seemed to mind, as some 400 elementary students from Holy Cross School cheered the surprise appearance of jolly Old Saint Nick at the school’s gymnasium.

Assisted by his Albi Homes ‘elves,’ Santa gave away presents to students at this Catholic school in Forest Lawn, as part of the homebuilder’s program of giving back to the community.

“We are so excited to be here today,” says Tom Mauro, Founder of Albi Homes. “We felt that this was a unique way to give back to the community in which we live and work. Calgary is a great city and it has been so good to us - investing in our community plays an important role in the way we do business”.

This is not the first time that Albi Homes has partnered with Holy Cross School. Earlier this year, 15 deserving students from this school were selected and wheeled away with their very first bicycle and helmet as part of Albi’s bi-annual corporate team building event.

Albi executives and staff were so touched by the joy they saw on the children’s faces that day that Albi Homes decided to give every child (Preschool to Grade 9) in the school an early Christmas gift.

“The children had no idea,” said Allan Klassen, President and Managing Partner of Albi Homes, “As Albi has grown, so too has our capacity to make a difference in our community. When you make a difference in a child’s life, you feel the impact even more profoundly”.

The Calgary Catholic School District and the Real Canadian Superstore partnered with Albi Homes to make the event possible. Nearly 400 children received toys and enjoyed healthy snacks at the special event.
