Paul Brandt, Baywest team-up against homelessness
Baywest Homes is making good music with country star Paul Brandt and his “Build It Forward” project that will benefit homeless families in Calgary.
“Build It Forward” will be an inspirational documentary series that will air on Country Music Television (CMT) in April 2011. The series will chronicle the journeys of seven families as they participate not only in the construction of their new home but also volunteer their efforts to “build it forward” and help build homes for seven other families, this time in a developing country.
Baywest, with a team of its regular trades and special volunteers, will craft two of these homes in the S.E. Calgary community of Cranston, by Carma Developers. Each of the homes will be 1,200 square-feet, two-storeys, with developed basements to maximize usable space. Both homes will also be designed to the stringent Platinum rating for Built Green™ Canada — meaning these will be some of the highest rated energy efficient homes available.
“Baywest Homes is excited to annouce that we are are part of an exciting partnership with "Paul Brandt's Build it Forward" project,” says Baywest’s Ryan Hall.
The “Build It Forward” initiative is a partnership with Calgary singer/songwriter Paul Brandt and CMT, as well as several corporate sponsors, including Habitat for Humanity, Samaritan’s Purse, Vintage Fund and the Homeless Foundation with the common objective to provide homes for seven Calgary families in need and bring greater awareness to the issue of homelessness.
